Bali Dec 2008

23rd Dec 2008 Bali Holidays
Kunal and Rubina , KR had arrived from New York on 18th. My birthday was spent in a very special way in the sense that we did a camp and about 132 women came for health check.. I felt so good. Then we went to the Chinese restaurant called “My Humble Home” in Maurya and we had good time.

We left for Bali about 6.30 pm to beat the traffic. The airplane looked ok nothing special. Reached Kuala Lumpur by 7 am local time. Met up with Gautam and Keyzom GK and we had a very nice family union.

Took flight for Bali.
24.10.08 Bali Day1
Reached Villa Horizon in afternoon. The villa is amazing. It had 3 bed rooms with beautiful view of sea from 2 rooms, the beds had this hanging down net to protect you from mosquito bites and bath rooms had open roof. The living room was large, with another open area like varanda which had a bar, dining table and 2 out door mats facing the sea where you could have a massage. The garden was pretty, with a cute swimming pool. The back yard led to the third bed room and the kitchen with 2 service entrance to the front of the house.
Ate dinner at home. Played Taboo. Kunal and Rubina beat every one.

Day 2
Everyone went for jet skiing, swimming & some massage in the villa facing the sea. Shekhar went to sight seeing and exploring Bali. Kids were relaxing at the villa. Had lovely lunch cooked by our man Numaan.
I slept most of the day because of allergy and antihistamine I was taking. Also read a book “The Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time” by Mark Haddon. It is a winner of Whitbread book of the year what ever that means. It is about a boy with special needs, in fact he is narrating the story and I think he has autism. Very remarkable book I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Children went to play golf in afternoon. And Shekhar went off in search of rudraksh, could not find anything.
I read the book “Unaccustomed Earth” by Jhumpa Lahiri which is a book of short stories and in a way in the end these stories get connected some how. At night we had dinner in Conrad Hotel. Came back walking to the villa because it is just next door from the beach.
Day 3
We had breakfast 8.30. Left home by 11.30 am and went all the way up north by van. Saw some batik, wood craft in Ubud and then the volcano in Batur. Had lunch
At volcano which was very bad. Then we went to Safari which was amazing. We saw animals at close range specially white tiger. The white tigers (2) were roaming across on the other side of glass window almost touching us. Then one tiger was brought walking by our side holding it by the tail and send to a cage. We could not take pictures, we were too stunned to click the camera. Came back pretty tired. Dinner at home and played scabble.
Day 4
Breakfast at 9 am.
Jet skiing, swimming and then reached Seawalk. It was 5 meters under water and the walk was thoroughly enjoyed. I had some ear problem and was a little scared but since we had done it before at Mauraceus I felt ok. Came back and had lovely lunch cooked by our man Numaan and I was practically unconscious after that having a good sleep. Gautam and Shekhar had a massage. Rubina dnd Keyzom were in the pool and then they have gone for playing golf. Shekhar and I have had a nice walk in evening and spend more time in the pool and just waitng for the children.
We went out for dinner in a French restaurant which was by the sea and we sat in first floor and we could see the violent waves and the rain and it was beautiful. The food was very nice and I had veil and it was delicious.
